To make Sun Do affordable to all, a sliding fee scale is offered upon request

Sun Do is a technique for stimulating internal energy (called “Ki” by the Japanese and Koreans, & Qi or Chi by the Chinese), through breathing exercises, postures, and meditation. The energy thus gathered is then used to establish and maintain the various balances: physical, emotional, and spiritual. Sun Do’s theoretical approach is the same as in acupuncture: by acting on the energy channels of the body, called “meridians,” you achieve a state of relaxation and inner calm, thus balancing the body and mind. The basic Sun Do exercises, although mostly very gentle, greatly improve flexibility and physical ease, which allows the practitioner to feel more at ease in their body.

Warm-down and inner organ exercises

Typical session

A Sun Do session begins with a warm-up section (about twenty minutes) of stretching designed to relax the body and prepare it for the meditation section that follows. The meditation section (the heart of the work) lasts 40 minutes, during which the practitioner stimulates the energy flow and quiets the mind by combining a deep breathing technique with standing and sitting postures. Finally, the session ends with a series of stretching and strength-building exercises intended to circulate the energy generated during the meditation throughout the body. Over time, practitioners experience major improvements in physical and mental well-being.
